2 1/2 Years!!!

My little two and a half year old! How did you get so big? It's so fun to hang out because we now communicate back and forth so well! I love hearing what's in your mind. And, you have a wicked since of humor. Obviously, from the pictures below, you are quite the cowboy - which you call a "Bobo" :)

One of my favorite things to see is when you do little prayer hands before we eat. Sometimes when you are really hungry you sneak little bites when you think we're not looking :)

You are also quite the artist. I love watching you paint. You seem to
enjoy it and are very methodical with the brush strokes. When you see
your painting on the wall you get really excited. I would rather have
your art on our walls than any famous person's :)

To go along with your cowboy ways, you also LOVE riding horses! :) If
anyone in on the floor, you hop on their back and declare, "I ride dis
shorse!" :) Or you prance around with Daddy. I love that you love cowboys and it makes your daddy very happy to watch old Westerns with you. :)

Here are some more things you're up to:

You don't like to sleep EVER, but, you make up for it during the day when you're just so fabulous :)

You love "army mens"

You still eat a TON. More that I do sometimes. 5 eggs or 3 bowls of oatmeal. Craziness.

You randomly hug or kiss me and ask if I'm doing "ok" :)

You are a dance machine!

You're a ham in front of the camera

You love the poky little puppy :)

All in all, you're the funnest little person I know. I'm honored to be your mom and get to spend everyday with you. Thank you for being amazing.

They grow up so fast....

They really do!!!  I was taking pictures with Liev on Photobooth the other day (left) and then started looking through old pictures and couldn't believe what I saw!  He used to be this helpless little blob of cuteness and now he's a little run-around stinker who is so smart and clever and sweet!  I just can't believe what a difference a few months can make!  I think it's so important to enjoy every stage of their lives because they do go by so fast and you miss them when they're gone.  I love getting to spend so much time with him and getting to know him so well.  He's so special!!!

Fall!

Fall is here! This time of season is so delightful! Liev loves being outside (though he always seems to get tons of bug bites no matter what I do to prevent it). Liev is now almost 19 months old and cuter than ever :) He loves Veggie Tales so much. He has just fallen in love with blackberries and is now up to four eggs for breakfast. He loves food....just like me :)
Jeff and I just got back from vacation. First time to leave Liev - it was hard for me but worth it to get good quality (quiet) time with Jeff. So good to be back with the little man though!
I am gonna try to update this blog more (haha I always say that). But I've been reading others blogs and they inspire me so much! I have so many recipes and pictures and random fun facts that I feel I should share them.
Right now I'm on a big Jane Austen kick. Pride and Prejudice rocks my world. Watched the BBC mini series version and it is incredible! The acting is superb and it stayed very close to the book. I'm kinda obsessed :) Jeff even liked it! (even though it's like 5 hours long!)
Liev is the joy of my world. He is so curious and always learning. He makes the funniest faces and is just such a ham! I could have 100 kids if they were all like him!
Well, that's it for now :)

So Im not so good with this blog thing.....

Yeah....I suck :)  But my sister-in-law is going to help me jazz it up my blog a bit and I think that will encourage me to blog more.  So soon it will be cool.  Quick update:  Liev is 8 months old and totally rocks.  He crawls now.  He crawls fast if there is a cell phone in front of him.  He started pulling up on things 3 nights ago.  Wow!  He is growing up SO fast I can't even believe it!  His personality is hilarious!  He is SUCH a ham!  His cheeks are massive and fabulous.  We took him to a pumpkin patch last Sunday and I had more fun that I've had in months...I think Liev enjoyed it too :) We got great pictures I'll put up soon :)

6 month happenings:

So 6 months is the best age ever! Liev is making so many sounds and smiles almost anytime you look at him! He wants to touch everything he can reach and is getting really strong! I sit him in his Bumbo chair on the kitchen cabinet when I make dinner and have to move everything away because a few times he has grabbed something like the kettle or a bag of potatoes. It's pretty funny.

He is so aware of his surroundings. When the animals walk up to him he reaches out to pet them and starts talking to them. He is now just under 21 pounds and is tall for his age too. He is such a thumb-sucker! I absolutely love when he sucks his thumb!!! Oh, and when I go to take a picture of him he almost always smiles for it. What a stinker! :)

I really don't ever want him to change. He is such a beautiful blessing to Jeff and I. The other day Jeff was saying how it's funny that Liev and I spend all day everyday together and yet have never had a conversation back and forth (at least not in grown-up language).

Oh my gosh - his cheeks are so big!...and fabulous!!! Every single time we're out, strangers come up and make some comment about him. I never get tired of it! He is my pride and joy!

First Food

Today Liev had food for the first time. It was sweet potatoes that I made and we got a video of it and it was hilarious!!! He sat in his Bumbo, wearing just a diaper and a bib :) But....he has seemed to have an upset stomach ever since :( He has not really taken a good nap since then either. We had his 6 month check-up this morning. He is at the 95% for height and over 100% for weight....as usual :) The doc says that he checked out perfect!!! Always good to hear! As I write this he is actually sleeping!!!! I have been praying for this! Anyway....we have guests in from South Carolina right now. Watching Myth Busters after Quesidillas and Blue Bell. Has been a good night.

Here I am!

Wow...I have a blog! Never thought this would happen. I'm horrible at keeping journals and hope that I can keep this up. I think it's important to write down thoughts and happenings because not only is it therapeutic but also when you look back at your writings, you can see how much you've changed (or haven't changed). I really want to do this because of my son. He is the joy of my life. I want to write things that I will look back on and be transported back to this time. To be reminded of the wonderful human being that is my son. Wish me luck!
